  since my awakening i have tried to understand why and how people could continue to believe so blindly in a proven false "religious" cult that has such an extensive and detailed record of scandals, lies and cover ups???

  i've come to the personal conclusion that there are three major reasons.

  i call them the 3 f-ups!

  Lv I know there are personally! I'd go as far to say it's 50/50 at this point. 50 precent are all in and 50 precent are mentally out but stuck. At this point you would have to be old, senile, mentally ill or uneducated to be all in and completely believe in it 100%. Most have to play the game and keep their doubts to themselves and mouth shut if they want to stay on the board. Some just do it as a social thing no effort really shown. Just make a couple meetings, do street work for an hour and give a comment. The people at the hall look like their attending an AA meeting. Defeated, Depressed and Desperate! I really feel for them.

  Yes it is finklestein! I think there should be a 4th F, for Fucked! Once you realize you have been duped by a religious Ponzi scheme since you were born, you go through a period of fear, shame, guilt, abandonment, why God? Some people can't get passed this period and remain fucked. I pray for all those who are experiencing this. Some Ex-jws really have a hard time and they are in my thoughts and prayers. With time, courage and confidence and the letting go of the pain, regret and astoinshment, and starting to really enjoy life, they can overcome it. This too shall pass...

  Since my Awakening I have tried to understand why and how people could continue to believe so blindly in a proven false "religious" cult that has such an extensive and detailed record of scandals, lies and cover ups??? I've come to the personal conclusion that there are three major reasons. I call them the 3 F-ups! No pun intended...

  1. Fear (of God, biblical doctrines,elders, slander, where to go from here, etc...)

  2. Family and Friends (shunning and cutting them off)

  3. Financial (binds and obligations)

  Yes these are the three large hurdles a rank and file JW has to mentally and physically leap over before they can escape this mind control corporation. It is like working for a seemingly great company your whole life to find out they have been cheating, lying to and abusing their customers and employees. They have also recently liquidated a whole portion of the company in another country and other parts of the world. Your fully invested in this company, retirement and all! Wait a minute... That sounds like every rank and file JW I know... Yes they are nothing more than an employee of a company. Follow the employee handbook or risk termination. Nothing more, nothing less. If you have any kind of compassion, or use your critical thinking skills, in other words, use your heart and mind you will not be considered a model employee and will be terminated. You will be cast aside as spiritually weak, mentally diseased and to be avoided!

  Is this the beginning of the end of the JW corporation? Time will tell...

  Those are the words of my 2nd generation born in JW mother. My grandfather died refusing blood. I've since come to the realization that many JWs have no other opportunities or options when it comes to leaving the cult. They have invested so much time and energy into this cult that they are now mentally and physically stuck in the belief system and doctrines of the cult, with no higher education or economic foundation, a plan B, to put it in plain English, to pick up and leave. That is exactly where this cult wants them. They made a bet on this being the truth and put all their chips in. They rely on this cult and those they associate with within it for aide, like a network and they are to afraid to disconnect. So it begs the question are they truly relying on "God"? Of course not! They have devoted their life to this cult, so even if there are red flags and truths about this cult being exposed, they feel they have no choice but to suck it up and ride the wave where ever it may go. I feel for the many who are the captives of this Dooms day cult. I can understand that for many living in some difficult conditions, especially in other countries with little to no economic or industrial structure this is the best ticket in town. If this cult hopes to survive into the ever present future they will need to abandon the disfellowshipping doctrine, end week night meetings and end door knocking, and just become a social club which it is already disguised as religion.
